The company Medi-Ice Pak Australia was started by husband and wife Tom and Robin Hope in 1977.

The genesis of the business lay in Tom’s search for a better solution for treatment of headaches that was both convenient and drug free. He had been in a boating accident in which he suffered injuries causing headaches on a long term basis. The solution was the “Medi-Mask”. A gel based mask when worn caused vaso-constriction relieving the pain of a headache.

The mask was the first of what is now a wide range of gel pack products. With the growth of the range came the growth of the business. Medi-Ice is now the leading manufacturer in Australia of Hot/Cold packs. The products are sold throughout Australia in Pharmacies, Supermarkets and the internet. The packs are used in Hospitals, schools, the workplace and in homes throughout Australia.

The product range is now highly diversified, not only do we manufacture hot/cold packs but we manufacture ice packs for the transport of food, pharmaceuticals and specimens. We also manufacture Ultrasound Gel, chemicals used for desk top x ray processing units and ice boots for the treatment of race horses. The ultrasound gel is used by a wide range of professions and industries and the X-ray chemicals are manufactured in partnership with a global Japanese corporation.

The Medi-Ice range is also sold throughout the world, the products can be found in Nigeria, Bangladesh, New Zealand, the South Pacific rim, China and Japan and many parts of South East Asia.

The Medi-Ice reputation for quality manufacturing has been recognised by European and Japanese companies and we have been engaged to contract manufacture products for these companies

Medi-Ice now has its own 1500 sqm site located at Unit 2 70 Flanders St Salisbury which houses 20 staff including an on the road Sales Representative.

The next generation is now managing the day to day affairs of the business. The daughters Amanda and Melissa look after all aspects of account adminstation and the son in law Anthony Greer, manages the general affairs of the business.
